Off of Rt. 2, from I-91 Exit 27, take Rt. 2E four miles. Watch for sign on right. Scenic mile long wooded peninsula on Connecticut River with 23 family tent sites and 2 group sites. Nature trail features dinosaur footprints and nesting bald eagles. Canoe/rowboat rentals, day use picnicking, showers, rec area, ice, firewood, pets, fishing. Part of Northfield Mtn. Rec. & Env. Control - 25 miles hiking tails, mountain biking, orienteering, recreation & environmental programs, power station tours, riverboat cruises, museum.
Located on Munn and Sutcliffe Rd. From CT Rte 84 to Rte 32 North to Wales Rd., Monson. Watch for signs. From Sturbridge, Rte 20 West. Follow Brimfield State Forest signs to Dean Pond Rd. From Jct. I-90 (Exit 8) go 3/4 mile south on Rte 32, then 5 4/10 miles East on Rte 20. Take right onto Monson Rd. Follow Brimfield State Park signs. Go 2 1/2 miles on Dean Pond Rd. Safari area, children under 2 free.
